Hello, I’’m Catherine Kurkjian, the Owner of TTG’s Aesthetic Intent. I have had a passion for the arts since childhood as my father was an acclaimed sculpture and painter. I studied the arts throughout my childhood and college education; treasuring every moment I spent creating art. Creating something beautiful from a piece of metal, scraps of wood, a lump of clay, or an empty canvas is mesmerizing to me.
With the discovery of the Metalwerx School for Jewelry, I found my niche with jewelry design and enjoyed the warm community spirit; as the instructors and administrators are not only gifted in talent, but in kindness and compassion for all who enter their school. The mission at Aesthetic Intent is to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where artists and the community can interact and appreciate the talent and time it takes to create that one special piece.
I have kept abreast of the many Open Studios and events where artists exhibit their work. As I discovered the talent and creativity of so many gifted artists, I was driven to open Aesthetic Intent which means "the desire to share artistic creativity". I am intrigued by art in all media and feel blessed to be able to provide this opportunity for local artists to exhibit and sell their work. We are excited to not only bring one-of-a--kind jewelry design and handcrafted art to a brick-and-mortar location, year-round, but to create an atmosphere in a place that is different from all the rest. It is not something that can be bought, taught, or planned because it comes from the heart As I look around at the work created by the exhibiting artists, I feel the passion that was put into every single piece, It is what makes it 'one-of-a-kind". I know that Medfield is a town that appreciates and supports the arts; thus, we are confident that the community will be supportive as we build a "little center for the arts" on Park Street.
